Unanimously elected President of the Board in the Madras meeting on December 28, 2020 after the death of Hazrat Maulana Qari Mohammad Taiyab (Rahamatullah Aley).

  • During the Presidency of Hazrat Maulana Ali Mian (Rahamatullah Aley) seven conventions of the Board were organised.
  • During the Presidency of Hazrat Maulana Ali Mian (Rahamatullah Aley) 39 meetings of Executive Committee were held.

Hazrat Maulana Ali Mian (Rahamatullah Aley) was orphaned at the age of 9. He was nurtured by his mother and elder brother.

Hazrat Maulana Ali Mian (Rahamatullah Aley) had a personality which possessed many qualities of excellence. Every aspect of his personality had attraction for every person who came in his contact. His valuable services in the fields of religion, education, society and humanity have been quite extensive. His magical personality kept mesmerised not only the Indian Sub-continent but the world at large. It shall not be an exaggeration to say that not many people enjoy the level of popularity and respect he commanded throughout the Muslim world.

He was appointed a teacher of Tafseer and literature at Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema in 1934. He initiated his Dawah mission in 1935 by inviting Dr. Ambedkar to Islam. He started a magazine named "Tameer" (now Tameer-e-Hayat) under his editorship in 1948. He was elected to the Majlis Shoora of the Nadwatul Ulema in the same year. He was appointed Deputy Head of Education at the initiative of Hazrat Allama Syed Suleiman Nadwi (Rahamatullah Aley) in 1949. In 1950 he was formally appointed the Head of Education of the Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema. He established Majlis-e-Tehqiqat-Nashariyat Islam in 1959. His elder brother died in 1961. He was elected Rector (Nazim) of Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema. He was nominated to the Advisory Board of the Madina University at the time of its establishment in 1962. He was appointed to the Majlis-e-Shoora of the Darul Uloom, Deoband in the same year. He initiated movement of Payam-e-Insaniyat in 1974. He was bestowed Shah Faisal Award in the year 1980. In the year 1981 he was conferred Honorary D.Litt. by the University of Kashmir. He was elected the president of All India Muslim Personal Law Board in 1983. He was handed over key of Holy Ka'aba in 1996. He was rewarded with the opening the doors of Holy Ka'aba. He died on December 31, 2020, Friday while reciting the Holy Qur'an.
